Locating RCFE Law and Regulation Updates

To comply with the newest Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) laws and regulations, Administrator's need to regularly review law and regulation updates.  But, finding these updates can be complicated. This is especially true following the major CDSS-CCLD website redesign which occurred in early 2017.

Since 1990, CDSS-CCLD has relied heavily on "Implementation Plans for Chaptered Legislation" as their primary means for providing law and regulation updates to residential providers. However, in 2016 CDSS-CCLD decided to stop providing these updates So, the question now is, where can RCFE Administrators and Licensees find RCFE law and regulation updates?

The primary objective of this webinar is to teach the participants how to navigate the and websites, to locate RCFE law and regulation updates. This will be accomplished by conducting a guided tour of the following website based documents: 

  • Adult and Senior Care Program's (ASC) "Provider Information Notices" (PINs)
  • CDSS-CCLD's Previous Years Implementation Plans for Chaptered Legislation
  • CDSS-CCLD's Quarterly Newsletter
  • ACS's Insider Quarterly Newsletter 
  • The California Code of Regulations (CCR) RCFE Health and Safety Code
  • Regulation Update Service is Required
