Course Description

The psychosocial health of our residents is a very important component of overall health and happiness. While we have many dimensions that contribute to our overall health, how we feel about our self (psycho) and how we relate to others (social) greatly influences our daily life. This course will look at both the broad dimensions that influence our health and specific life struggles that are more common in later life. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is discussed to provide framework for understanding our resident’s needs. Last, we will explore ways to meet our resident’s psychosocial needs.
