Course Objectives

Sharon K. Brothers, MSW, CEO of the Institute for Professional Care Education, will share her expertise and knowledge on support techniques for caregivers and families who care for someone with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With Sharon Brothers’ nearly three decades of experience in the senior care industry as an owner and operator of assisted living and memory care facilities, social worker, educator and family caregiving advocate, Sharon Brothers continues to be active in community aging support services, facilitating the Willamette Falls Hospital Alzheimer’s support group and participating on the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. Sharon Brothers shares what she had learned about supporting caregivers from research and from years of listening to and working with caregivers for the memory impaired, both professional and familial. Sharon K. Brothers, MSW

Sharon Brothers has been involved in education, writing, management and consulting for a wide range of care-related programs and services. She is currently CEO of the Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed) which encompasses the brands: aQuire Training Solutions, Medifecta, CarePro and EasyCEU. Sharon received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia in 1980 and has since spent her professional career in the health care industry, developing and operating four assisted living communities for over 18 years. Sharon's leadership of the IPCed team is based on the concept of building a company that prepares the next generation to provide care to seniors, using the very best practices in e-learning and technology.
