This 1 hour course covers the importance of being present when working with you client. Being available for clients is the first step in good customer service. It means remembering – always – “people come first.
This course teaches students about the importance of presence while working with others. Students follow the stories of Kendra, Ben, and Molly. Personal stories help students to relate and learn the concepts of presence through real life situations and problems they may encounter. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: demonstrate the seven steps of being there for the client; establish priorities; and understand that people come first.
Upon completion of this module, student will be able to:
- Define communication
- Identify the benefits of effective communication
- List sender communication methods that negatively affect a receiver’s ability to understand information being communicated by the sender
- Identify verbal and nonverbal communication methods
- List techniques for improving communication
- Discuss active listening
- Describe steps for resolving miscommunications
