After completing ALZH104, Diagnosis and The Caregiver’s Role, the student will be able to: identify additional early signs of Alzheimer's; understand diagnosis and treatment options; employ methods to treat the patient emotionally. 

After completing ALZH107, Daily Care: Toileting and Grooming, the student will be able to: understand the toileting issues for people with Alzheimer's and how to assist; recognize the importance of grooming to the person's state of mind. 

After completing ALZH112, Activities: Creating A Well-Rounded Program, the student will be able to: understand why activities are important to individuals with Alzheimer's; identify the four areas of activities; utilize the Serper method of repeating instructions.

After completing ALZH115, Nutritional Goals and Therapeutic Approaches, the student will be able to:  understand the food and fluid needs for a person with Alzheimer's; utilize methods to help meet those needs, as recommended by the Alzheimer's Association; set nutritional goals for the person with Alzheimer's. 

After completing ALZH117, Understanding Behaviors: Considerations for Client Rights, the student will be able to: understand the principles of helping people with dementia, while maintaining safety, dignity, independence, and individual rights. 

After completing ALZH119, Understanding Behaviors: Intervention and Follow Up, the student will be able to: utilize tips for verbal and non-verbal interaction; understand what to do when a crisis is over; develop a plan for prevention of future instances. 

After completing ALZH120, Managing Pain in The Client with Communication Challenges, the student will be able to: Interpret the non-verbal ways people with memory loss express pain or discomfort; Assess whether someone who cannot verbally communicate is experiencing pain; Utilize the Alzheimer's Association's recommendations for pain management and staff approaches. 

After completing ALZH121, Appraisals and Care Planning, the student will be able to: the student will be able to: understand the purpose of assessments; demonstrate the five levels of functional abilities; determine when assessments are needed and what questions they should answer. 

After completing ALZH122, Care Planning and Preparing for End of Life, the student will be able to: define and create a good care plan; identify goals and problems involving care plans; utilize assessment ideas and care planning tips from the Alzheimer's Association. 

After completing ALZH123, Wandering and Exit Seeking, the student will be able to: understand what wandering behavior is and why it affects people with memory loss; be a prepared caregiver in the event wandering occurs; utilize tips to prevent wandering.
