ARIZONA ASSISTED LIVING CAREGIVER TRAINING
Congratulations on your decision to become an assisted living caregiver. Caregivers are an important part of the life of every resident living in an assisted living Community! The Arizona Senior Housing Institute (ASHI) and Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America have partnered with Care and Compliance Group to deliver the Arizona Assisted Living Caregiver training in a convenient online format. This training program complies with the training requirements outlined in Arizona Assisted Living Regulation R9-10-724 for Supervisory Care, Personal Care, and Directed Care Services.
The training is divided into two components: online didactic training and hands-on training with an ASHI preceptor.
ONLINE TRAINING
The first step is to successfully complete all three parts of the online training curriculum: Supervisory Care Services, Personal Care Services, and Directed Care Services.
LIVE HANDS-ON TRAINING
After successfully finishing the online training curriculum you will receive instructions to complete your one-on-one training with a preceptor from Arizona ALFA and the Arizona Senior Housing Institute. After finishing the clinical competencies with your preceptor and after completing the hands on training your preceptor will determine if you are proficient in the clinical competencies. Arizona ALFA/ASHI will mail your certificate of completion to you.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Individuals interested in securing employment as a caregiver in the assisted living industry must also obtain their CPR/First Aid certification as well as complete and submit fingerprint clearance application. Fingerprint Clearance Application packets can be requested by calling the Arizona Department of Public Safety at (602) 223-2279.
