An RCFE Administrator is licensed by the Community Care Licensing Division of the State of California Department of Social Services to care for clients 60 years of age.

To become an RCFE Administrator you must complete an approved 40 hour Administrator Certification course and successfully pass a state-proctored exam. The exam is 40 questions long and must receive a score of at least 70% to pass. Numerous practices quizzes and test preps in our course will assist you to excel on the state exam.
Our Department of Social Services-approved Administrator Certification course is instructed by a team of experienced professionals and nurses led by Sandi Flores, RN, C. This course not only addresses the state exam, but also covers current elderly care issues, including medications, dementia care, staffing, clinical needs management, and regulations.
These courses are intended for persons who wish to become certified as an administrator of a Residential Care Facility For the Elderly (RCFE) in the state of California. You must attend the correct course for the type of facility you wish to operate. This course is for initial RCFE Administrator certification only.

In California an assisted living facility is licensed by the Department of Social Services as an RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly). Persons licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator must take this 12 hour certification course to become a certified RCFE administrator.
